name of movie?

someone has asked me the name of a movie, all they know is that the story is of an undercover reporter who goes on death row to write of the experience, to add to the experience they tell him they do not know of him being a reporter(when they do know) he gets to the chair and suffers a heart attack.
If anyone can tell me the name of the movie or any details that would be much appreciated.

It could well be Episode 1 - "The Final Chapter" of a little known anthology series "Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected" (not the Roald Dahl series we all remember).
