I'm tired of my song repertoire... anyone have any good songs to sing for a 2-year-old? I'm looking for both lullaby-type songs and fun, daytime songs as well. Thanks!

may i reccommend 'get in the ring' by guns and roses, it worked on my 8 year old before he went into care.
In the movie Three Men and a Baby Tom Selleck hushes the child back to sleep while reading out aloud in hushed tones a blow by blow account of a particularly vicious boxing match from a sports mag...his intonation made it sound like a kids story...(thought this was ingenious and very funny) so if u sing ur fav song in a calming way and gently gently it might work... Alternatively use some love songs ...
I am into Bluedolphins way why should there be a surtain childmusic. Just play your own they're bound to like something. i think it was Liam Gallagher who said that children shouldn't be allowed to buy music at all, they buy so much crap and that is true. And look at all these compilations for kids, y'know Hits for kids Absolute Music and so on. If the buy 3 compilation cd's 50% of the songs are featured on all of them
my baby sister is 2 years old and she loves baa baa black sheep and if your baby knows alot of people and understands the word birhtday cause my sister does, ask whos birthday is is then if your baby says someone's name then sing happy birthday to that person't name. plus try actually rocking your baby when doing rock a by baby on the treetop is good too.

Hee hee, Shadow, he has recently had a birthday, as has his father and his grandmother, and he's really into the birthday song right now. This morning he had me sing Happy Birthday about 10 times, to the dog, both cats, himself, me, my husband, and the milk. Yesterday, apparently, he had my husband sing it to every stuffed animal in the house. We do Baa Baa blacksheep as well, and lots of non-kid songs that we sing as lullabies. Thanks for the site Vinny. Anyone else have any favorites that you always sing/sang to your kids at this age?
i find the ase of spades by motorhead works for my 2-year-old

Hmm.

Here are the current songs we've got... I'd love to get more suggestions as currently putting my son to bed is taking an hour of me singing (repeating these songs over and over and over!!), and he won't let me change a diaper without a fun song to go with it.

Lullabies:

Durme Durme

Old Paint

Brazos River Sweetheart

Amazing Grace

Swing Low, Sweet Chariot

Summertime

Dona Dona Dona (How the Winds are Laughing)

Dona Nobis Pacem

If You Miss the Train I'm On

What Shall I Do With the Baby-O

Fun Daytime Songs:

Three Little Monkeys

Five Green and Speckled Frogs

Little Bunny Foo Foo

If You're Happy and You Know It

The More We Get Together

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star/the ABC song/Baa Baa Black Sheep (all the same melody)

The Farmer in the Dell

my 2 year old loves it when i sing the usual songs but fill in names of her and people she knows.  plus she loves all my mom's oldies.
