Broken Arm

My 2 year old daughter has just broken her wrist - any suggestions for bathtime / hairwashing with a plaster cast? She loves her baths and I don't hold out much hope for keeping it dry for a few weeks. Has anyone been through this and can offer some advice?

Why not cover her arm with a plastic bin liner, and keep it in place with some elastic bands? As long as she's not too vigourous, it should do the trick

My son (5) broke his elbow last year and we were going on holiday to a place with a pool. We bought (from the special aids shop within the hospital) a (for want of a better description) two foot condom type of thing. This had a good tight fit and stretched right up his arm to his shoulder. They also did lower-arm-only ones. Trouble is I can't remember the make of them. Perfect for bath times too. Ask at the hospital; they should know what you mean.

Do a google search for 'arm cast protector'. There are quite a few companies that sell them.

When I broke my wrist in 1979 (8 years old) they put on a water-proof cast which was a brownish colour other than the usual white, can't believe they don't do them nowadays??

Our 4 year old Granddaughter broke her arm last year. We all had fun taping different coloured carrier bags under her arm, ready for bathtime! Hope your little girl feels better soon.

 

P.S. Andy's idea of plastic bin liners sounds like fun too!

Better than that, went back to the hospital today, and it wasn't broken after all and she is now cast-less. Result!
