trust me, chances are if you miscarried, even real early, there would have been more fluid from the amniotic fluid and probably more than a few days of shedding the uterine lining that was preparing for a baby and placenta.  many different factors can cause a shift in your cycle including diet, stress or just normal hormone fluctuations.  i had a miscarraige only days after my cycle was missed and that would have made it only a few weeks old and i still remember feeling a sense of my water breaking ( i have two kids already).  and i continued to shed for weeks.

I would make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your concerns.  This will put your mind at rest.

Some years ago, I missed one period, then had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. The pain was most excruciating even at that early stage. Although I didn't bleed excessively, I still had to have a D & C. Fortunately, I fell pregnant 2 months later with our second daughter, so all was well. Personally, I think you should put your trust in the nurse who told you it was probably your cycle. Without sounding patronising, If you have been worrying about it, try not to torture yourself into thinking you had a miscarriage. Good luck in the future.

Hey smudge whats a d&c i have had two misscarriages both of them were just 6/7 weeks gone. When it happened i was in a lot of pain and then had a heavier and darker period when i went to see the doc they said dont worry its normal but did not give me a D&C?!?!?

And as prev answers have said i think it was probably just a blip in your cycle and wouldnt worry!!

Good luck conceiving if you are trying x x

Hi wonky, D&C is short for Dilation & Curettage.

It's a procedure sometimes performed in a recent pregnant women, to remove tissue remaining in the womb. OR when a woman is suffering from heavy or irregular periods. OR when a woman bleeds after the menopause. There are probably lots of other reasons, but these are the only ones I have any knowledge of. Hope this helps you.
