food allergies/intolerances....
4 Answers
ages ago i was told i had a lot of various food intolerances... these largely resulted in me having irritable bowel syndrome after various foods...
mainly dairy, yeast, formaldehyde.
i also have allergies to cats, dogs, horses, dust, mould and feathers
i have largely ignored this an just take imodium or antihistamines to combat it.
however...sometimes, after eating, my nose and a patch either side of my nose, just before my cheeks, goes red for a while...
it feels fine, just slightly "different" but i just wondered why, and if it was to do with the intolerances or allergies...
the food is not spicey.
for instance just now i had cheese, onion, tomato, mushroom, herbs, rocket, veggie bacon and a pitta bread
and its gone red....
thanks

Some allergies and intolerances can affect skin, think of reactions like hives or drug rashes.
Your body may not thank you for just covering up the reactions rather than treating the cause by avoiding things that you are intolerant to, depending on how often you do it I guess.

Hi Joko,
I too suffer from various allergies and food intolerances but when I went to an allergy specialist they came back with a list so long that I think everything in existence was on it. The funniest one was 'water'!!
So I just get on with my life and hope for the best!!
At the moment I have bright red cheeks with spots on them that look like bites. (very glamourous!!) I am presuming I touched something in the garden and then rubbed my hands over my face.
I cannot help you or make any wise suggestions, only empathise and sympathise.
Good luck.

Try the carol vorderman detox. You can get the book. It basically means you eat inoffensive foods for a few weeks- ones that very rarely result in intolerance or allergy, and then gradually introduce other foods one by one to see how it affects you. This exclusion diet is really the only way to find out. There are a lot of allergy tests that come up with all sorts of nonsense, and contradict each other! Do be aware that you may get withdrawl symptoms from caffiene, and also you may get headaches and flu like symptoms/ridiculous snot, whilst the toxins come out. I do these detoxes every now and again and they are AMAZING.
