own roon for baby??

what are peoples opinions on when baby should go into there own room?

I moved my 2 out at about 6 months, based on guidelines based around cot death findings. maybe there is more up to date info than that now..

most people decide from about three months or when they start sleeping through the night. My daughter has just turned 1 and we have only just put her in her own room. Its different for everyone, i think you know when there ready or not.

It's entirely individual and is decided by how you feel about it and how the baby settles.
I have known people who have had the baby in a separate room from the start. I had mine by me for the first couple of months and gradually introduced the separate room. It's all down to what works for you.

Mine was in her own room form about 10 days beacuse we couldn't sleep with her in the room! She snored and wriggled lots. Everytime we moved in our creaky bed she woke up and also the cats who normally sleep in our room had to be locked out so they sat outside howling all night.

It's a personal decision, guidelines still say 6months to reduce the risk of cot death, but it doesn't suit everyone!

I met someone last week, her LO was about to turn 3 and wouldn't sleep anywhere but her parents bed, so sometimes the earlier the better while they don't understand?!

We had the same problem as K8bailey, right little snorer! Travis was moved into his own room from about 3 weeks once i finished breastfeeding, hes always been happy there and we have never had any sleep problems.

With my first, I put her in her own room at 2 weeks but had a bed in there for me if she was poorly or was having a restless night but my 2nd is now 13months and still in our room. I know I should get her moved into her own room but we are all happy with where she is. However, my eldest slept through from about 12 weeks (but only til she was about 8 months) and my youngest has never slept through. I do wonder sometimes if its because she is still in with us.

I don't think there is a right answer. I think ours were put into their own rooms when we were happy that they were coping well (about 3 months). We made sure we could hear them.
Mum knows best (usually) so go with your instincts. I think the biggest danger is in keeping the baby in your room too long.
