my nearly 5yr old son had his 2nd appointment at the pediatrian on wednesday. and they said they would like to see him again, which i was so glad of, as his first appointment they said he just had a speech and understanding problem and would assess again in 6month. the pediatrian was askin lots of questions and my son was being his normal self which i was glad of, i knew the questions that were asked were autisum related so i asked wether he thought it could be or not, he said he couldnt give a yes or a no, my son would need to see a clinical phsycologist, and we would meet again in 6 months. i dont really know what this person does and wish i had asked at the appoiuntment. im also thinking about cutting my work hours so i can spend more time with my son and im hoping there is an organisation that supports parrents with autistic related matters, as i feel i need lots of support with this. any help on this matter would be welcome, espeshally if you have been through it yourself

The National Autistic Society has loads of information. They also have telephone support lines that you can contact. If you contact them they will be able to give you information on all the professionals that get involved and what they will do.

They will probably have information about support groups in your local area that you may find helpful.
Good luck x
