I love this answerbank

At the age of 74, I have just started to participate with answerbank. One thing I would like to say, I wished there was a spell check, as I lost a lot of schooling during the second world war, because my mother was hard of hearing, I had to stop at home in the mornings to tell her when the air raid warnings started, when we had to run to our garden shelter. I now look forward to reading what people write about, and the avenues that it goes down, some of the answers completely go away from the original question. Sorry to go on about my war years. Hope that it never happens again.

Hello to you crank!
how nice to meet a proper gent! :0) Please 'do' go on about your war years, I love to hear all those experiences! In fact, I bought a book recently " Our Hidden lives " by Simon Garfield, the everyday diaries of a forgotten Britain 1945 - 1948. A mass observation project recording the everyday lives of ordinary people. Andy is quite right, nothing more to say really about this site, when it gets a little heated on here, stick to the day when it's relatively peaceful!
