For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I've done it by rolling up some towels & putting them in the bath so they create a sort of towel support to lay the baby's head against...freeing up both hands to do the washing. Obviously you never even turn your head away for a second (before I get accused of drowning children!)
This way makes a lot of wet towels, but it worked for me.
I don't know if your baby will be old enough to use one confidently enough yet but we used a Floateze chair when our daughter was between 6-24 months, basically its like a rubber ring enclosed chair, but at 5 months obviously they may or may not be able to sit unaided yet. Our daughter loved it and you can also lie them back on it against the back edge of the float to rinse their hair.when washing it and avoiding any tantrums or scares for the child.
