Just wondered. Down my street live a couple who both are deaf and dump. Thsy just had a baby.

They will communicate with sign language when the child is old enough, until then they will rely on non verbal language, such as gestures and body language.

they will communicate with babe the way they communicate with each other and babe will learn their language just like any other. they will probably also get special help to ensure that babe learns to hear and speak.

Many hearing parents are teaching babies basic signing now, as it means the baby can communicate with them at a much younger age.

There are million and million deaf people who got either deaf and/or hearing children without any problem. It shouldnt stop disability people living their life just because they are disability. I take it u havent met any deaf person in face to face before, have u? Children pick up stuff very quickly when they look at their deaf parents using sign language and try to copy their sign language every single day. Deaf parent(s) teach them some simple sign, like milk, cup, cake, biscuit, please, thank u, park, etc etc.

Yes the baby will learn sign language excellently but will also need to mix regularly with speaking adults and other children so he/she learns to speak themselves. I am sure they will be receiving help.
