i have just red on the sun newspaper that the nhs are going out and purchasing porn mags and dvd's. even flat screen teles etc for sperm donors to use! so shocked beyond belief!! Thoughts please xx

I suppose if the NHS is going to deal in donor insemination, this is a reasonable add-on. How else are you going to get donors performing on cue?

Being handed a screw-top jar and then sitting in aseptic hospital room are hardly the most erm..........conducive circumstances for a chap to produce the required sample.

Anyway, they'll only need the first 3 minutes of a DVD or 4 pages of a magazine, in any case.............:o)

Why on earth would anyone be shocked ? Simple purchase of tools to make the job easier, and encourage volunteers.

not at all, donna. As I understand it, samples need to be as fresh as possible, so it's no good getting donors to produce them at home and take them in on the train; they need to be produced on site. And the donors may need visual assistance. (Not all of them will, I expect, but some.)

Surely the cost per spermatazoon would be very low, not knowing how many spermatazoons are banked or what the cost of the porn is it is difficult to calculate but it must be a few million per penny.
Shocked? not at all. I take it that you are a woman Donna, surely you realise that men need female help in most things.
