is it just me or does anyone hate the school run, having to talk drivel with the mothers does my head in

Drivel in the comfort of my own home is fine and with whom I choose to either drivel to or be drivelled at!

It's many years now since I did this, but I hated it. The mums were always gathered into little cliques to work out who to hate. Splendid example to their offspring - not.

everyone is like so inlove with their offspring, dont get me wrong I love mine and would die for them, but Im not so precocious as to expect anyone to be interested in what they eat, Sugar or read!

When I used to child-mind, half the job was done in terms of avoidance of this situation as I got ignored most of the time.

Just put a hoodie on, pair of really dark sunglasses to cover up your puffy vanishing eyelids and an Ipod playing Eminem's offensive language tunes.......knowone would come within a mile of you hopefully, lush. :0)#

Probably mainly because I'm male - and it was a very cliquey 'mother's only club' - the only ones I used to chat to (/up!) were Eastern European au-pairs who were very open and friendly.

I have worked out if i leave at specific time, I can get down the road, see no one, talk to no one, drop at the gate and get home all before the other mothers even leave the playground, result no drival and no time wasted, lol

I just get the kids to bring themselves home, then I can pick and choose which other parents I choose to talk to - job done!

I pick up my grandson from school most days, thankfully I have a few friends who are also grannies doing the school pick up! We really enjoy having a chat, about everything and anything, but not the children!..................lol........
