Hi all, I have had sore boobs for the last couple of weeks, but for the last couple of days they have been agony. They are hot, hard and heavy, I can't bear anything touching them, even the towel when I get out of the shower feels like sandpaper. I now also have flu like symptoms - I'm not sure if the two things are completely unrelated or not. Anyone had anything similar or have any suggestions.
Thanks xXx

Sounds like Mastitis but that usually occurs during breast feeding...

I did think that, ummmm, but wasn't sure if you could get it when you didn't have a baby.

In the link it said that it tend to only affect one boob when breast feeding. I've had it before and it's really painful so I'd get yourself to the GP if I was you..x

Even if it's not...it's not normal.
It sounds hormonal.

Take Ibuprofen 600mgs which should relieve the pain.

Hi, pinkilady. Don't really suffer with PMT, I have the Implanon fitted in my arm and I only bleed a couple of times a year.
Thanks, ummmm, I've got doc's this morning so I will see what she says.
With the flu symptoms as well Sqad?
ummmm.....yepp!

Hi, sqad. I have never had anything this bad before, not hormone wise, they weren't this painful when I breastfed both of my children (7 & 9 years ago).
posy....Iknow........but they are now.

Mastitis (infection)is a very long shot as this usually affects one breast only, for both breasts to be involved it is almost certainly hormonal plus you may also be getting "flu" which may well be unrelated.
