kids watching Shameless

It's all in the title really, what age do you reckon kids should watch television that I am assuming is made for an adult audience ? I have just watched this in the company of my boyfriends 14 and the all important half year old daughter and I have cringed all the way . I am prudish, however this was too much,. So how old should they be to watch this ?

All the 12-13 year olds in my classes at school seem to watch it. Most seem to have TVs in their rooms and no-one seems to control what they watch on their TVs, phones and computers.

My 16 year old daughter doesn't watch it anymore. She thinks the writers have run out of ideas.
Actually thinking about it...... has Shameless gone the same way as Frankie Boyle?

Although I have never watched a whole episode of Shameless I think it is too much for children still at school.

I let my 14 year old for the first time this week. He's usually in bed by 10. Most of his friends were watching it from the start. And you know this because they post it on facebook. He found it funny. Not as funny as Frankie Boyle though :-)
