What's the thin plastic decorative tape for wrapping ali baskets called?
6 Answers
Hi everyone, I have a v large ali baba linen basket. It's made up of coils. Each coil is wrapped around with thin plastic tapes of a different colours. The plastic wrap that rests on the basket top of the basket is broken. It's on the edge of the lid and has not surprising come adrift with use. I've tried gluing it back into place, but so much is broken it hasn't worked. What it really needs is for me to wind some new tape around. The tape is 3mm across. I'm pretty sure it's made of plastic. White would be good as that's the colour that's broken, but I'm happy to use any colour really. Can anyone tell me what the name is for the stuff? I've tried all sorts of searches but have had no luck so far. I wondered if anyone out there has a clue. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post.

Thanks Barb1314 that's a good start. The only problem is, it's adhesive. I need to be able to wrap it around the rim and pull it into shape. A great help though, thank you. Hi boxtops, my basket is Wicker too, but it's built up in layers each one wrapped with this tape. Difficult to describe, but a bit like rolling out sausages of clay, forming them into a circle and then and laying one on top of the other. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
