computers laptop's a layman's answer please

hi to the guy's who have been giving me their time to answer my query, now please bear with me l really feel foolish even saying all this but hey how do you learn eh ? ok as l said before l have had my laptop for a few years l dont do a lot l send my emails go on facebook u tube even bought things, l also have a giggle by checking out the new york times and read various things infact l love having the access to the www.it has opened my eyes to a big wide world, ok thats me what l want to know l downloaded the revouninstaller.com as was suggested super done all that then my screen opened up to a whole screen of what progs l have and al the info along the top and down the side, now here is the stupid bit l dont know what progs to uninstall what ones to leave and the ones that l need all the time half of them l have'nt heard of infact if the truth be told l am none the wiser when it comes to all the jargon that's used and in plain and simple english please to tell me whats what a simple yet informative answer to the life and the meaning of the universe ha only joking there one of my fav.s d adams who l only found out is now dead , so sorry to have gone of the whatever boil thread whatever its called and by now you would have guessed that l am totally mad but harmless ok l will stop now and hope someone has some time that they can help l promise you this is no joke l really am wanting help thank you.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! In other words if the laptop is working fine then why hack at it? If you're not sure what to do then leave it alone as you may remove a vital prog.

When you open Revo Uninstaller take a good look at the programs you have, any that you dont use regularly uninstall them. By removing the little used programs you will gain more space on your hard drive. I t is very difficult to tell you what you should keep and what should go without seeing your list. If you could list them here then maybe we can help you

hi to dagman, thank you so much for your most sensible answer and l am gonna do as you say nothing , l am that type of person who just loved to fiddle and by now should know better about a couple of years ago l was pressing the key board got on the computer page well l must have done something for after this l could not access my internet page which ammounted to me not using it for 2 months, when my son came to stay he had a look it took him 2 minutes to work out l had pressed a key that took me of line crazy or what , l do have two books got them from readers digest one is your computer how it works then l got the internet one l do skim through it but really l need to read it typical of me all over , again l thank you oh as for telling you what prog's they are some of them l have never heard of let alone which one does what if you get my drift, anyway maybe this will be my last question so again l thank you most sincerely, maybe l will get back to you in a couple of months with good news cheer's senga.
