10 Answers
does anyone know how to get rid of maggots from your compost bin? We have had a compost bin for a few years now and this has never happened before, we have only put in what we are meant to but there are tiny flies and tiny maggots in it. its a plastic one that has no bottom to it. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

I think the warmth and recent damp have encouraged a lot of hatching. Leaete lid off and let birds and wasps sort it out. And don't keep the compost bin under the kitchen window.
Or, seal it up all round so there are no gaps that flies can get in through (good luck with that one)
