I want to gain weight without becoming a bodybuilder or losing tone.

I'm underweight and want to gain between 10lbs and 1st to reach a healthy weight. I know that I need to increase my calorie intake to do this but I don't want to put on weight that is pure fat. I'm not going to start eating all the junk I can get my hands on and I've researched the kinds of high calorie nutrient dense foods that I should be eating to achieve my goal but what I want to know is - how can I incorporate exercise without losing weight? All I want to do is stay toned. Is there a way I can do this without burning off the extra calories I'm eating or gaining so much muscle that I look like Jodie Marsh?
Any help would be much appreciated!

When lifting weights use lighter weights and more repetitions, heavier weight give you the bulk.
When doing cardio exercises stick to low impact stuff such as cycling or treadmill, the high impact like Zumba classes will burn far more calories.
Do aerobic exercise which is anything you like but keep your heart rate down to 180 - your age. Swimming, rowing, and cycling are the best. Gyms are pretty boring, expensive, and you tend to stop going. Jogging is high impact. Try lots of sport and stick with the one you enjoy.
