Hi I went for my first scan and I was told that I was 16 weeks . When I went for my scan I was also 16 weeks from my LMP ! Doctor measured the baby and all and said that the dates matched but she was going to minus the scan by 1 day ! What does this mean and how can my scan date and my LMP be so close ? Thanks

they measure your dates from your lmp, so they should be exactly the same. one day is neithere nor there
It's too difficult to calculate a DD based on conception, so they always work it out based on your LMP (as you know exactly when that happened), which means you're officially 'pregnant' before you conceive...IYKWIM! Your DD from the scan and LMP should be the same, give or take a week or two. Just to confuse you some more (if this is your first) when your bump is bigger they'll measure what size the baby is externally based on the length from your pubis to the top of your uterus...all of them are estimates as you know ;) HTH
