Hi,

A friend of mine is pregnant and due on the 4th August. I am going to throw her a baby shower and need some ideas for it. I threw one for a friend about 7-8yrs ago but to be honest it wasn't the best.

Does anyone know of any games etc that can be used?

Thanks,
RR x

I threw one for my sis in law 2 years ago. I got loads of celeb mags and cut out baby pics and everyone had to guess who the celeb parents are, you could play pin the dummy on the baby, guess the size of the bump, guess the flavour of baby food in jars.

We had a quiz to finish off nursery rhymes and a prize.

A game where we found little butterflies dotted around

A game where we guessed the sweets in the bottle- can also drink out of bottles its not as easy as u think and winner gets a prize!

We also had baby bingo winner got all the money- was dates am/pm when baby was due :0) have fun x

Thanks. I'm not sure I get the 'drink out of bottles' bit! I can tell you now, I'm often drinking out of bottles and yes, it's very easy! ;o)

Thanks again.

All ideas welcome.

And perhaps a voucher for Ann Summers.
Adapt pin the tail on the donkey. Pin the dummy/navel or anything else you fancy on the baby.

Clever. I like that one. Pin the dummy on the baby!
how are you ruby?
are baby showers popular in this country now ?
Paper quilt..... lots of pretty baby colours paper glitter and trimmings guests all make a 'quilt square' with messages etc that can be fixed together with sellotape to make a 'quilt' picture for the nursery wall
Rubyrose - if you are a U.S. poster, you should be aware that baby showers are rare in the UK, so you won;t get a lot of useful answers from UK posters, because we don;t know much about baby showers.

Hopefully our U.S. posters will be able to advise you. but be aware, that is why you may get some baffled or unhelpful responses.

Andy-hughes, I'm a UK poster and have been on here for about 7years... I remember you from the old CB days... Before it got banned and reinstated.

Baby Showers are apparently the done thing these days and I've not yet come across someone who doesn't know what it is... Kind of like a school prom! :-)

Mcfluff, I'm really good thanks. Loving life as usual... Did I miss anything good? X
It doesn`t have to be a dummy,Ruby. Especially if it is a boy baby.x
Rubyrose, i remember you too, how is it going?

Re. the baby shower - I stand corrected, thank you - but I do lead a very sheltered life !!!!!!
nah don;t think so :-)

you know when i first heard about baby showers, i thought they were exactly that, a shower made esp for babies....

Can't help, ridiculous notion the idea of a baby shower in my opinion (sorry!), but I just wanted to say hiya Rosie- how the devil are you?
