Ordered some last minute toys today (that thing 2 had forgotten to put on his list). Not only did the company warn me that some original packaging might be on display but have just received a text to say its going to be here tomorrow. I think that it pretty impressive considering how busy they must be. (Also impressed that all the shopping is done!)

Blimey sherr, I think that you got lucky there.
I've managed to do most of my shopping on line this year and have been stunned by the efficiency of some of the companies I've used.

Instant acknowledgement of order, order dispatched notification, email from courier advising of delivery window. And they have all been true to their word.

And it's free delivery, well pleased. Apparently I will get an email tomorrow to tell me which hour slot I have for delivery (and the thing I ordered was out of stock everywhere else).
You are lucky, I placed an order with Amazon on Sunday and they aren't even dispatching it til tomorrow :(

Ordered something from somewhere else today (I am going to hate it, the Victorious karaoke singalong CD (to go with the karaoke machine we have bought for girls)) and that's also been dispatched already.
You'll most probably get that by the end of the week as well, sherr.
I thought it was the remit of kindly aunts/uncles/godparents to buy things like karaoke machines and drum kits!

Tis difficult to sympathise when it's the daft parents subjecting themselves to the torture...... ;-)

My dad gives them money so we are the only ones that buy them presents. If we didn't indulge them with messy and noisy stuff they would 'miss out' (I even put new batteries in noisy stuff when they run out).
You are a fantastic Mum Sherr.

By Boxing Day my mum claimed that the battery factory and burnt to the ground and there wouldn't be any batteries until June!

Eccles - when the going gets tough, I go for a ciggie, I have my limits (I also have rechargeable batteries).

Got an email at 8.05 this morning to tell me 'Lee' would be delivering my order between 9.41 and 10.41 and it arrived at 10.22. Almost asked the delivery man if his name was actually Lee but resisted. Have emailed the company to tell them how impressed I am, fabulous service.
