As contagious as in children. When your symptoms have subsided, then you are not contagious, even if you have a few blisters left.

my 2 yr old grand daughter recently had this. we were warned that this was highly contagious, but no one else in the family caught it. not a very pleasant illness especially the blisters in the mouth. Janet
