JJ as it's in the clearance sale, check you can have it delivered or if picking it up, that they have it at the store you go to.
Quite often when I see something in the clearance sale it will say not in stock or unable to deliver.
Wouldn't want you to set your heart on it then find you can't get it.
As has been indicated above, all Sony TVs (and, indeed, all other makes of TVs produced in the last quarter or century or so) have HDMI sockets. I can't find the review that you're referring to but whoever wrote it can't have looked very hard. (They're on the side of that set, not on the rear).
So you'll have no problem connecting a Sky Q box to it.
Thanks Barsel - it is there as I have put it into the Trolley and can pick it up any time. I have also ordered a new printer so it's all systems go and making me poor LOL
Err Chris - they're on the side - would that have wires sticking out of the side of TV - cos I wouldn't like that as my corner looks like spaghetti junction already
JJ, you can’t see the wires’sticking out’ the HDMI socket isn’t on the frame ,it’s behind and on the left back-side of the set , the frame covers it anyway, that’s the best way I can describe it
I understand Bobbs - that'll do for me (I know what you mean) . I will go ahead and order it, then nephew will help me to get it sorted and also get my new printer added. Thank you.
Although Sony's website says (in the 'Specifications' section) that the HDMI sockets are 'on the side', a look at the set-up section shows that they're actually "on the side of the bit at the back", rather than on the side of the set itself.
I've added a red arrow to a picture of the rear of the set, to show what I mean:

Since it's a "clearance" item, I think that it's a last year model that's being replaced by a newer version. All the manufacturers do the same at around this time of year- there's always something "better" in the pipeline!
Whoever wrote that (ridiculous) review, Barsel, was either
(a) as blind as a bat ; or
(b) expecting to be able to plug the downlead from a Sky satellite dish directly into the telly (which you can only do on Freesat TVs, not Freeview ones).
Either way, the review is meaningless and irrelevant.
ok - thanks all for your help, paid for an all - will pick up the two items on Wednesday morning.
reason for changing TV - on my current one there has been a mark like a crayon - started a tiny bit but now travelling across the screen. This is behind the screen/monitor. Got away with it for a while as subtitles hid it but knew I was going to have to get one soon so better now than never. Thanks again guys.
