Thrush medicine and pregnancy

I have just taken a thrush relief capsule Fluconazole 150mg and then read you should not take if you are pregnant or are trying to get pregnant.

I am trying to get pregnant and am ovulating at the moment. Should I wait this month and avoid sex over the next two days or do you think it would be okay to still to try?

Also I may well have conceived on Sunday night - what would happen to the foetus after taking this medicine?

The BNF says that in rare cases long-term, high doses of Fluconazole can cause birth defects in a child. I don't think you should worry since you only require a single dose which is highly unlikely to do any damage. It also extremely unlikely to cause any harm in the first few days of pregnancy either. Perhaps you should wait for this month and then start again next time though, if only for your own peace of mind.

Just to add to that, I dont reckon much to the chemist who sold it to you. I have bought it a few times in the past and they have always asked if there is any chance I may be pregnant.
