I am 17 weeks with my second baby, and have had thrush early on in this pregnancy & towards the middle with the last.
I used a clomatrizole pessary both times but did not use the applicator,it was in a tablet form & I just pushed it in with my finger(not too far up!!),make sure you put it in just before you go to bed,and you should get a little relief by morning, but give it a good couple of days to cure it completely.
Thrush makes you utterly miserable,do'nt suffer, get it sorted.Good Luck!!
You can always use natural yoghurt which will kill thrush - pop a pot in the fridge for a couple of hours for that extra "Aaaahhhh ..." sensation when you apply it.
I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and have had thrush for months, i was also told not to use a pessary and to be honest to be on the safe side i would'nt anyway, i was advise to use Canestan cream, it does help. I was also advised by my midwife not to wear underwear at night as the warmth can worsen thrush!

Hope this helps. x
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have been refused sale of Canesten at Boots last week because they said the only thing they can sell to pregnant women is paracetamol! I thought - well that's not much use to me when I have thrush!

I've heard about the live natural yoghurt too so hopefully that will work. Just don't do what a friend of mine did and use raspberry yoghurt - complete with pips!

I think it has to be live and natural. The bacterial flora is kept in check by the bacteria in the yoghurt and so it restores the natural balance apparently.

Let's hope it works then! :)
