giving birth and herpes
Hi my daughter was raped over a year ago and contracted herpes, she desperatly longing for a baby but is worried that she wont be able to give birth natually now due the the virus has anybody any help for us please, the pros and cons to this would be a great help, or if anyone has been through the same situation. Thankyou.

My best friend has herpes and she has a 3 year old baby girl. At the time she had the baby she did not know she was carrying herpes, thank God she had a c-section. After she found out she had herpes the doctor said to her "you are lucky you did not deliver vaginally!" The baby could have been blinded or even contracted the virus too, so your daughter most likely will never be able to deliver natural. I would play it safe and have a c-section. It's for the best.....
It shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure that the doctors know that she has the virus so they can take any necessary precautions.
