My daughter is pregnant with her third child. She suffered from hg with the first two boys.....she is sicker and having to go to hospital more often to rehydrate and be monitored. Some one told me that she is probably having a girl as her estrogen levels would be higher and she had to us e progestrone birth control as she could not take anything with estrogen....Can the sex of the feteos make one sicker?

No! I has severe HG with my 2 sons and was only sick a handful of times with my daughter!
Every pregnancy is different, and she may well be carrying a girl, but sickness doesnt mean anything i'm afraid.
Hope she feels better soon
good luck
Hi Linda

I have 3 boys and 1 girl and I was MUCH sicker when I was carrying her........ but you never know. Let us know what happens. Good Luck and I hope your daughter feels better soon.
My daughter has two boys and two girls and has never suffered with any sickness with any one them
Hi Linda, I've suffered Hyperemisis with both my pregnancies, and the theory is that its the body reacting to the pregnancy hormone level, basically, in America some specialists are saying severe HG is your body being allergic to it.

The old wives tale, with normal morning sickness is, that if your sick, your having a girl. The saying also goes little girls take their mums beauty when they are pregnant.
