Advice
Hi everyone. I am currently trying for a baby with my partner and have been off the pill since Ocotober 2006. I know exactly when my ovulation day is and this month we had sex exactly on that day, amongst others like we had the month before.
I have been keeping an eye on my cycle and each 28-30 days I am normally due on. Today is day 31 and I am still waiting. I am adament that I will bleed as I am having the usual "time of the month" aches and pains and on Sun and yesterday I had a slight "rouge" discoloration in my wee!! Sorry to be graphic but no full blown period.
I am a novice on the pregnancy front and wondered if any knows if it is common to get the regular "aches and pains" if I was pregnant. I have done a pregnancy test 2 days ago and this was negative but I understand that I could be testing too early. Im confusing myself with everything as I thought if I conceived on my "day" then I should know by now if I was pregnant! Am I being un-educated here??
Any advice before my trip to the shops at dinner time for one of those "find out if you pregnant 4 days before your period" tests!
Thanks guys xx

Id say wait a bit, if you can, before testing again. The homore that the test looks for increases each day so if you can leave it a few days after period due then the better. The tests that work up to 4 days before period is due are only 50% accurate so it may be best just to wait or buy a cheaper test.
as for the aches and pains these can occur when pregnant and also spotting of blood can happen too.

I agree with redcrx. The earlier you test the more innacurate. I know it is a devil to wait when you want to know. We been there. Make sure you use the first morning wee as this contains the highest level of hormone even if the test says any time this is the more accurate.
If it is any other help 3 months isnt long to be trying. Try not to get hung up on dates and times. Have fun. My hubby heard on the radio that sperm live for 48 hours in the body so if you have sex every 48 hours then there are always swimmers about. Whether this is medically true or not it has worked twice and it did keep a smile on his face. I think it was a ploy but hey ho!!!

When i was preg with my 1st i was so sure i was about to have my period, and so were alot of my friends when they were early on too.. We all had period pains in the begining, when i had a positive i spent the next 2 weeks thinking it was wrong, as i felt just as i did b4 my period. Also you can get a small bleed a few days b4 ur period when ur fertilised ovum emplants. So u could b pregnant!
But if ur not, u need to have sex about 1-2 days b4 u expect to ovulate, as sperm survive for up to 72 hours, where as ur ovum has only really 12 hours to meet sperm, so this way, the sperm are ready and waiting for it!!! Why not try one of those home ovulation tests?? Good luck!!!

Hi, I would say be patient, when I came off the pill to get pregnant it took 18months. I think that it can take a long time for the pills effects to let your body get back to normal as it effects different people in different ways.
You do feel very differnet when you are pregnant ans for most people it seems to be your boobs that hurnt more first of all!
anyway good luck!

Hi
I think that we are in the same boat. I came off the pill in October to start trying for number 2 (Still trying there is no sign yet!).
Before I found out I was pregnant (in 2004) I was convinced that I was going to "come on" because I was crampier that usual and I had a very light period so I put the idea of being pregnant to the back of my mind until 3 weeks later when my boobs were really painful and I started to be sick so I did a test (6 of them) and they were positive.
Good Luck
