I have been to the docs today to have my pregnancy confirmed and to arrange my further treatment. I am due to go on holiday in a week at which time i will be 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. My doctor says it is fine to fly but the nhs direct website amongst others says that it is not advised before 12 weeks to to a higher chance of miscarriage. What do you think??
THe irst 12 weeks are when you are most at risk of miscarriage generally - flying does not increase this risk in a healthy woman. The only situations where flying is unwise during early pregnancy is if you have had complications (bleeding/pain etc) or have a history of miscarriage.
My sis in law in an air hostess and she said that airlines in general have a problem with pregnant women flying in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy but no "rules" about flying in early stages
thankyou both.i am just a bit worried. this is the best thing ever to happen to us and i wouldnt like to risk anything.
we jet off next week so i am looking forward to the rest
