I was taking the combined contraceptive pill for a total of 11 years when my partner and I decided to try for a baby. I stopped taking the pill in August 2006 and my doctor warned me that it would take a while for my body to return back to normal. I had my first normal period which started on Feb 28th and lasted for 7 days. Since I have stopped taking the pill my weight has ballooned and I now weigh 13st, which I know is overweight. I eat sensibly but I am struggling to shift the weight. Are there any diets that are safe to do while trying to conceive?

General healthy eating is your best bet. Dont do any of these silly drastic ones. Keep at it Im sure it will go. Try one of the well respected ones like slimming world of weight watchers as their advisers will be able to give you propper advice. Dont forget to exersize too. Good luck.
as winny said, a healthy diet is the best. Oh and try to eat less calories than you burn. Nothing too drastic as crash diets will send your periods haywire.

I was the opposite of you, my pill was the factor in me piling on the weight. 3 stone in a year on the combined pill and Im trying to shift it now Ive stopped taking it.

When I started taking my pill my weight balloned. It took ages to find one that suited and when 'Yasmin' eventually got it's uk licence my doctor prescribed that and it kept the weight off.
My job means that I work shifts and I work all sorts of hours, so I'm struggling on the excercise front!
