Having a baby after an abortion
My husband and I have been together for 5 years and are so much in love and so settled in our lives that we are seriously thinking about 'planning a family' in the near future. For the right reasons, I had an abortion a couple of years ago because we both agreed it was the right thing to do. And I don't regret it AT ALL. But the thought of pregnancy now scares me so much - as I was 11 weeks when I had an abortion and was starting to show, and had terrible sickness day and night. I really do want to start a family soon, but the memories of being pregnant before were horrible. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Thanks

You have to separate these incidents. It sounds like your mind is playing awful tricks on you, triggering all the emotions that come with the memory of making such a huge decision. You must look to the future and realise you are more sure of yourselves now and try not to be scared - it's a big decision.
ah bless you, i sort of know how you feel, i am 9 weeks pregnant, this is my 5th pregnancy, my first i had to have a termination at 14 weeks due to problems with my baby then i had 2 misscarriges then a beautifull baby girl who is fit andn healthy, but people seem to think just cause i have a lovely girl that i will be fine this time, i on the other hand go through hell every day just waiting for a sign of problems, the only thing that i can say is go for it! i can say whole heartly that each pregnancy is different and allthogh it will be hard for you but if you have good support you will be fine. i just take each day as it comes.

I had a termination at 13 weeks because to have a baby at that time was not the right thing to do with the situation i was in (long story) but it was 100% right for me.
I have two children which i devote my whole life too, with my daughter the sickness was ok i hardly noticed it, but with my son it was really bad.
Firstly dont be scared of feeling sick as they say the more sick you feel the better the pregnancy will be. (something to do with the right balance of hormoes i think).
theres things you can do for the sickness like eating a cracker or dry buscuit first thing in the morning, ginger is also brill for getting rid of the sicky feeling and those pressure bands that you wear on an aeroplane they were a god send for me.
Usually the sickness doesnt last past 16 weeks. sometimes it does. but it will be worth it in the end when your holding your baby, all the memorys of feeling icky will fade into the past.
they also say you feel more sicky when carrying a boy. was deff the case for me.
