starting childmindingh whilst being paid maternity

Hi, i am on materniy leave and still have about 4 months left. I am going to start childminding before my maternity leave ends.

Will i still get maternity pay from my employer even though i am going t be earning a small amount of money ?

You should check your employers maternity policy. On mine I wasnt allowed to do any other paid work whilst on maternity leave.
why did you leave work so early in your pregnancy?! I left when I was just over 8 months gone.

You've no right to 'claim' maternity leave, when your pregnant AND workind. It's just plain greedy!

Plus, it's not fair on the kids you childmind to take the time to adjust to you, then have you taken away from them - it's too short a time to allow them to feel comfortable, before you're letting them go. It's not fair on them, please think of these children, as opposed to money you'll make from them.

Bloody hell that was a bit harsh.

I also finished work with only 4 weeks of my pregnancy left.

I am not intending to go back to work so the kids i mind will be with me until they go to school if not longer.

I need to know if i start childminding before my maternity leave finishes, will i get paid for both ?
