Getting pregnant after the pill.

I had been off the pill for about 2 years and have been only taking it again for 10 weeks (2 extra weeks to stop my period before I go on holiday). Now we have agreed we want a baby (stupid timing with the pill!). Before I went on them, my cycle was like clockwork most of the time. I took my last one yesterday and am wondering whether I will ovulate now, in my next cycle after I've had my period?? I know they can mess you up for a few months but I'm hoping I still stand a good chance and as I've not been taking them long my period should be fairly normal.

i think you will have a period pretty soon, however, if you get pregnant now the doctor will find it hard to give you a due date and terefor will have to go off your scan because they take the first date of your last (true) period. true meaning without the pill, because these are not classed as true periods. hope this helps, oh and good luck, i too have just come off my pill, getting married in August and want to have a baby with my new husband. But, knowing my luck i will fall pregnant straight away and not fit into my wedding dress!! but, i wanted to get the pill out of my system before the wedding.

I'm not sure how long you have/havent been on the pill will make much difference.....I fell pregnant whilst ON the pill, I had been on it for 5-6 years.

Hi, everyones different I reckon. I had been on the pill for 14 years straight!!

We decided to try for a baby and thought we should start to let the pill get out of my system thinking it would take a year or two before I fell. It took 2 wks!!! So that ******** that plan up good and proper,lol.
