I'm going back a few years, but there was a male doctor on TV (possibly American) who wrote a book on things such as how to stop a baby crying by making certain noises (mimicing womb noises) into it's ear - and he demonstrated and it worked instantly! I can't think of his name, or what his technique was called - but I'd love to find out.

hi, thanks for your answer annie. i've worked out the guy i was looking for is dr harvey karp - worth a look for any new mums - it really works.
