Sorry not a question but thought i'd just share that my fellas little sis has just had a Baby Boy!!! He's an uncle!!

She went into labour at about 3.30am, waters broke whilst she was in hospital and he arrived about half an hour ago.

She ended up having a cesarean because she wanted to push at 8cm dialated (apparently u need to be 10..?) so there was a risk of him going into shock...(?).

Just awaiting a phone for name and weight, then shooting off to see her straight after work!

So happy for her and my fella. (sh!tting myself now though!! lol) xxxx

flippin eck... I think it may FINALLY be starting to sink in that i'm going to be having a baby....:o\
it didnt sink in with me until i was pushing lol
I only get to 7cm when I start pushing uncontrolably and my kids didnt go into shock. My son came out with a cone head though.

I think i'll be a bit liek u red - although i suppose for most first time mothers tahst the case!

lol spanner!! I did read that that does happen but the shape soon returns back to "normal", so i figure you're littles head is now fine ;O)
Woo Hoo! lovely news, nat :o)

Yep...it is best to be 10cm, the reason is because if the cervix isn't dilated enough the entrance can get swollen from the pushing..therefore making the 2nd stage (pushing) less efficient and probably resulting in a c section. This isn't always the case, though and some women can get away with pushing early! Maybe this is what happened with b/fs sis?

Yeah i think thats about right Pippa. We went to see him Friday evening and he is sooooo gorgeous!!!! Was amazing... his little head all mishapen and his lovely marble eyes curiously looking all around him!! Never held such a new born baby so it was a great experience.

His sis was doing well, she'll be let out of hospital today. Although the constant stream of visitors all got a bit much for yesterday so she locked herself in the toilets for a big cry according to her mum. Which was pretty sad, but i can understand why!! Think she just wanted time to relax and unwind with her little man and fella rather than having to stay awake and try and smile for everybody!

i think i'll have a one day "open day" but then close my door to visitors for a few days after baby's born!
