cervical erosion

can anyone give me any info on this as im 32weeks pregnant and have had a few bleeds from 27 weeks onwards went to the hospital as i was told to do so.... i rang the hospital the other day to a rude mid-wife saying you are bound to bleed you have cevical erosion there is nothing we can do about the bleeding so there is no point ypu coming down to the hospital again... very rude and worrings as im not sure what that is and i wonder why they never said anything when i have been in befor with bleeding......

That is appalling treatment!
Have you got a community midwife that you see for regular appointments, it may be worth giving them a call and asking for them to explain to you what the cervical erosion means.
I bled once during my pregnancy and was told it was cervical erosion and just to be a bit more careful. I know how worrying it can be though and i was treated a lot better than you seem to have been.
If you havnt got a community midwife then speak to your GP and voice your opinion about your treatment.

The word erosion is a bit misleading, it just means the part where your cervix meets the womb has shifted, pregnancy in itself will make this bleed, but heavy lifting sex etc etc will all cause it to bleed because the cells are very sensitive.


Phone your normal midwife and ask her to explain to you what this is.

thank you both, i have had a chat with my mid-wife and i she is not happy with the hospital for telling me i have this, there is nothing in my medical record to show i even have it, so i think i was been fobed off.... i wont let it happen again and i will be going to the hospital when i bleed. :)
