Afternoon all!! I have finally got around to packing my overnight bag for going into hospital (7 weeks and 1 day til due date - not that I'm counting lol). I *think* I have packed everything I need and what baby needs but keep thinking I've forgotten something. Can anyone make any suggestions of items that I may need and have forgotten? Many thanks.

A towel, a flannel and lip balm all for during labour.
3 things that hadnt been mentioned to me and regretted not having!
a book! Just in case youre like me and end up going in 2 weeks past due date to be induced. Most boring 3 days of my life and i had nowt to do and ran out of clean knickers lol

Oooh poor you redcrx! Luckily when I was induced I gave birth less than 24 hours later!
I was like Redcrx, went in to be induced on the Wednesday but baby didn't come out til early hours of Saturday!!!!! Make sure you've got some magazines, puzzle books etc and several snacks! Also make sure you've got a top/nightshirt you're happy not to see again for when you're in labour, because if they need to whisk you away for a c-section (as they did me) they will prob just cut it off you.
ooh Kaz, all that wait for a c-sect. I was contracting but it wasnt doing anything. i went in on the wedsnesday and gave birth 4am saturday. Labour pains from 10pm Friday though so i got it easy.

I had a nightshirt from Matalan which had an orange on the front and said 'freshly squeezed'. perfect for after the birth lol
Hi.
I'm taking a little battery powered hand-held fan & a water spray for face, Midwife at antenatal classes recommended both. I agree with Psychick about lipbalm cos apparently gas & air dries out your mouth & lips.
Ear plugs may be useful for when you're transfered to the wards.
I've packed high-energy snacks (Fruesli Bars & Haribo sweets) just in case I get hungry during labour & for hubby too cos the hospital canteen is in a seperate building.
I may be overreacting but I'm packing Milton antiseptic wipes so I can clean my bedside area myself (at least I'll know its clean).
I'm also taking pain killers for hubby cos he suffers from bad back & I know he'll be struggling with standing up for a long time & hospital chairs.

I'm 39 weeks today so hopefully not too long to wait.
