Birds and babies

After watching Violet on Corrie, I was just wondering why birds are so bloody gaga when it comes to wanting a baby.

I appreciate that the peasant class only want one so they can jump the council house list but why the rest?

Biological determinism is criticised by many a dungaree wearing feminist, so what is it that makes seemingly normal women want a baby so much?

You only release an egg once a month for 30 or so years, whilst the stronger sex release millions of salty tadpoles for their entire post-pubescent life. Is this why? Are the life giving apparatus more sacred?

I have been married and yes, looking back, it may have been nice to have a little wardy (the world can never have too many brain surgeons), but it never bothered me, nor her either. I have never looked at an ovulation chart in my life. Bloody things.

So apart from the little side questions, why do the fairer sex feel it is so important to have babies. I would argue it is a biological thing as opposed to social thing, otherwise there would be more adoptions.

I know plenty of blokes who are superbroody Wardy :)
And when I took my little boy up to visit his grandma at the primary school she works at, all the schooldkids flocked round him and cooed and stroked his head. They were mainly boys :)
hmm i ask myself the same thing }:>

helliebobs, have you considered that the boys act broody because girls may find it sweet and new age?
No, i'm not that cynical Wardy :)
I guess it's a biological trait in the female of the human species in order to preserve the species and promote procreation..........or something like that :-) x

^^^^Uuuuuurrrrrgh!!!!!! As soon as I was married I couldn't wait to have a baby. Think it's because their teeny tiny clothes are just soooo cute!x

There's not much that doesn't, is there, ruge? ;o)

I've never been overly broody, Wardy. I do want kids when I'm much older, but I've not felt a physical 'yearning' for them yet. Perhaps it'll happen when I'm (much!) older?

Now that they've removed RB's post it looks like I'm saying uuuuurgh to Bigmamma!!!!!lol.x
It is the most natural thing in the world to want a baby, when I got married I was every bit as keen to have a baby as was my wife!!

And I now have three great kids, all now grown up and I am now looking forward to Grand children!!

and none of us live on Council estates and would have no shame if we did.

Joe, you really have no idea what you are missing out on, I think you need to stop watching so many soaps!!!!!

the ed must be a right anal cow!
