what should i buy?
Hello everyone I went for my first scan last Thursday and all is well! I'm not finding out the sex of my baby, but I would like to start buying things that I'll need...I already have a moses basket, cot and a highchair which I bought in a lump buy after my scan. Any suggestions as to what I can start to buy now excluding clothes as I would prefer colours (blue/pink) when baby's here. Thankyou xx

the trick is to buy as much as you can whilst still pregnant as when twinkle toes is here you wont have much time for anything else!!
we got a microwave steamer, for sterilising baby's bottle's, teats, dummies etc, different from the conventional ones but fine all the same and cheaper into the bargain.
x2 blankets
x1 shawl
baby bath, bath products,
hair brush, nail clippers,
mits for covering wee hands so baby cant scratch its self.
pram with car seat, most prams are combined.
breast pump, if you plan to breast feed, then you can express milk and dad can feed baby, giving you a well earned rest.
x3 towels exclusive for baby, ones with hoods in are perfect.
this list should give you an idea, of whats needed.
i found the baby book by Dr miriam stoppard, a great reference point, everythings covered.
best of luck! xxxx

personaly i didnt buy too many newborns, which was just aswell as mine were 9lb 9oz and 9lb 4oz so wouldnt have fitted them long. but you'd be fine with 4 large packs. i also really liked huggies, they seemed stronger, pampers seemed to fill up with wee really quickly! also you might go and buy loads of huugies and not like them, you could maybe buy two of each. the nature ones are quite good too. ooh its very exciting isnt it, i loved buying all the bits, with the babys room all decorated and lots of goodies filling the room.
loza, with the nappies, it really will depend on what suits the baby. I personally used huggies with my daughter after trying a few different ones. I intend on going straight to the huggies this time around as well and hope they that they suit this baby as much as they did my daughter.
Its funny because me and my boyfriend sat here last night looking on the net at all the things we need to get. The list is endless!! It didnt help that I was a big kid and kept getting all excited at a particular boys range mothercare do! lol
I think I will save radiogagas list as a reference! lol

there are so many things to buy and yet you may find you dont use them staright away if at all. you wont use a highchair until baby is 4/5/6 months old.
Baby bouncer
play mat
make sure if buying a pushchair rather than pram that it is suitable from birth (ie lies flat) a baby car seat on a pushchair is ok to use in short bursts though.
Id recommend signing up for a boots card if you havnt got one and the parenting club. You get vouchers and can also earn 12pts per pound on all huggies products.

Ive been finding that alot of buggies that you can use the car seat with, also come with a soft lightweight carrycot so baby can be lying flat and facing you to begin with.....we have decided to get a travel system with one especially as Im due slap bang in the middle of winter.....I like to see new born babies wrapped up snug!
I can see a trip to boots for a card coming on! lol

weve got a pram for short trips, and a lie back pushchair for trips into town, one thing id overlooked was the space underneath to store shopping, and your bag of babys requirements when out and about. so try to bear this in mind, my pushchair thankfully stores quite a lot of shopping underneath.
oh and some muslin squares, for wiping up mess, bibs and a cosy toes for when babys in the pram, all snug. xxx
