What is making it hard for both me and my boyfriend is that we both work in schools so most of the names we think off, one of us knows a little whatnot with that name and it puts us off lol Also, alot of the names we have thought about are very popular.
So good luck to your sister in law, on both the birth and naming the baby, and any girls names she thinks of but doesnt use, ask her to pass them on lol

I have a few names in mind but haven't really decided on a particular one yet. I think I am hoping one will just appear in my head when she arrives and I will know thats the one.
It is difficult though, as psychick says, some are just too popular and you know kids who are little imps who are called a name you love.

Boys
how about:
Lucas
Callum
Gregor
Girls
Jenna
Julia
Olivia
Being scottish, my kids have scottish names and so are most of the names we didn't use:
My sons are Craig Iain and Ciar Alastair, Ciar is more usually spelled Keir, but we went for a gaelic spelling. We also liked Gregor, Alec, Walker, Grant, Struan and Kerr for boys.
For girls it was going to be Kirsty or Mhari
I have great nephews called Oscar and Caleb and colleaugues kids are
Georgia, Liberty, Maddison, Luis, Connor, Ewan, Shane, Karys, Arrianne, Aleesha.

That's not half of them! I'm one of ten and have dozens of nieces & nephews who in turn are themselves breeding for England! The names I listed are a few of the nicer ones and are a mix of nieces, nephews and their offspring. Some of the rubbish names (I hope none of my sisters see this) are:
Crispin, Barney, Charity, Prada (yes, Prada!), Josephine, Flossy, Pepe and Martha.

I think that some of the more modern names will be so common when the child starts school, so what would be unusual would be for them to have an classic name like Elizabeth or William, Victoria or Thomas?
However, a lot of the even older names are coming back into fashion like some of the celebrities who've chosen Violet (Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck) or Olive (Ali G/Sacha Baren Cohen & Isla Fisher) so how about one of them?
Names like...
Girls: Elsie, Bessie, Iris, Evelyn, Felicity, Clarissa, Cecile, Anastascia
Boys: Albert, Alfie, Archie, Ted/Theodore, Vincent, Hugh/Hughie
There are loads more, but I think they're the cutest!
