less than 5 weeks to go and no boys name!!
Hello all,
I don't post often but i do read how everyone is doing. I have reached 35 weeks now and as we dont know what we're having we're trying to get a short list together of both boys and girls names. thing is, we're really struggling with boys names. our surname is Robinson. has anyone got any ideas or know of any names that go nice with Robinson?? i'm really worried i'm not going to be able to name my baby if it's a boy and it'll end up like my cat - we've had her since april - i rescued her and her 4 3-week-old kittens and she's still called Mummy!!
thanks

Luckily for me she was a girl so no problems there. When I had my son I had no idea what to call him so for the first two weeks of his life he was known as 'boy' which I actually got used to calling him! In my desperation to find a name I reverted to the TV and just happened to be watching Friends and plumped for Joey in the end. It's a tricky one, maybe better to wait and see what s/he looks like when they finally arrive!!

LOL, well I should hope you don't call the baby Mummy - that's just asking for school bullies to find him!
If it helps any, we have had real trouble thinking of boys names too but have now got down to our "final" two which are Archie and Finlay (but we'd call him Finn). Other names that I like but we have decided against for one reason or another are:
Theo
Flynn
Ryan
Callum
Eryn
Alfie
Joseph
I am sure, if it is a boy, a name will just pop into your head as soon as you see his little face.
Good luck with everything, I am 34weeks now and the birth now seems to be hurtling towards me at a frightening pace! X

Thanks everyone so far!!
natalie - tell me about it! you're a week behind me and i'm sure we both starting posting around the same time and to be honest you've asked so many questions that i needed the answers to! sounds like we've had a similar pregnancy! i'm still working though and full of cold at the moment so i'm feeling pretty miserable today cos i've had next to no sleep and i got up at 4.55 this morning for work (normally 5.30 but got up for ANOTHER pee and thought i may as well get an extra long shower and make porridge!)
good luck with everything yourself - no doubt we'll post our experiences on here after the big day! xx

What girls names have you decided on? They might give us an idea of what kind of names you like :-)
I'm still working too, but serisouly wish I wasn't right now - although I know I will appreciate the extra weeks I would be using now on maternity at the end when bubs is 6months and I have to return to work.
I am so tired, and, like you, it is just through getting up every half hour to pee! Then by the time you have waddled back to bed, it takes another 20mins to get comfy, then you have to turn over, then you're too hot and just as you're about to drop off - it's time to pee again! LOL. Well, I guess it is getting us into practice :-)
And Ray is right, Doris is a lovely name for a cat :-D

Ha ha Natalie - you're bang on the money there! plus, i share my side of the bed with 2 cats (was one, but one of the kittens likes it on there too) and whenever i get out of bed i turn round and wonder where the heck i've fitted in on the bed!!
the girls names we like are (and in order of preference pretty much...):
Isobel
Elle
Naomi
Kate
We did like Bailey but then someone said something which put us off...then we liked Carter but then my mum got wind (no pun intended) and said "Carter the Farter!" so many times it died a very quick death!
i have looked at names that tend to be put with Robinson and it's things like George, William, etc and we'd like something a bit more different, but not weird different....it's just so difficult!
if it helps...our boy animals are called Niles, Marley, Max and Billy. but don't worry, i know that there are big differences between cats and babies!

Hi lorrymac, we had no problems thinking of a boys name and had settled on Ryan pretty much from the start. Of course we then found out it was a girl and didnt come up with her name til she was 3 days old! It actually helped seeing her though becuase some of the names we had swimming around just didnt suit her. Dont worry if you cant decide yet, you have 6 weeks til after he is born lol
