is it worth being in a relationship?
17 Answers
im single myself but alot of my friends r in a relationship, i used to moan infront of them that i wish i was not single, but they always say, "you dont want to be in a relationship, they are too complicated and stressing stay single!" so why are they stil in a relationship then????!! i hang around lot of couples, my parents constant agrues with each other (almost everyday), and my bro and his wife constant bickering over nothing (everytime i see them)....and my mates constant text or rings me when they fall out with there partners, this is driving me really mad, r all relationships like this? i dont remember having any arguments with my ex's, mayb i just walk away from it ?? but its starting to give me bad vibes, i really dont want to be single forever, but i dont like confrontations, arguments and things like that! what do i do? so my question is... is it really worth being in a relationship?

If its a relationship where 1 or both of the people involved are unhappy then the answers obviously no its not worth it.
But not all relationships will be like that.
Though i see what youre saying when youre outside you see how much people argue etc.
Often maakes me wonder why they bother.

red, im 25.
its driving me mad! there r times they r sweet together, but i tend to see more arguements and bickering than seeing a happy couple. i dont want this to happen to me when i meet my next guy?! not constant arguements or bickering i really dont like it. sighs.
i suppose, u'ld never know until you r together long enough?

It depends on the people, some get on well some don't, some that don't got together for the wrong reasons ? don't let it put you off. I'm single at 24 always been single and would really like to meet someone its not nice being alone, at the end of the day its a personaly choice but I think as humans we are "programed" to seek out a partner

At this moment in time id rather be single i know where I'm going...
In my last relationship Ive was lied to i trusted the person with everything only to be let down..
Some say its better to have loved and lost than not to of loved at all..
I have to disagree when things are going right there great but when it goes wrong and one partner calls it a day. It can be very hard for the other person to move on..
After being hurt badly by my last long term partner it has made me think do i want to go through this again.
And as i said at the start "NO" ..
Deep down i still love this female but i now wish i had never met her as after 5 months on it still hurts,,

Roy i know how u feel, i wish i hadnt met my last either, but u never know until u get to know that persons habit, u can hold it for so long but u cannt pretend or lie for ever in that relationship.
as for keroppe, i know how you feel i dont really like constant arguements etc... then whats the point? being in a relationship if u r not happy and constant arguing??? its not healthy. arnt being in a relationship suppose to care and love each other???? hmmm xx

I know where your coming from as I am single and recently I had this rush to find a partner then I realised it isn't actually that bad being single and I can come and go as I please
My ex is still hanging around when he comes to see my son but I look at him and think thank god I am not with you anymore!
I think one day we will meet someone who is right for us but until then I am happy to get on being like this lol x

I am a single guy. One thing I can say to the mentions of arguments on here....I work with a lot of women and have a few women relatives. They do seem to say things to try and have an argument. Very strange. It must annoy them because I am so easy going, I just don't make any attempt to argue! Too much effort I suppose.
Back to the subject....try and find the right one before committing. See if they try and start and argument for example....lol

Everyone has a disagreement at some time or another, but it's how you tackle it that determines whther it'll turn into an argument or not. I think me and my husband are very good at listening to each other, and then putting our own points of view forward. It's a case of respecting each others opinions.
Some people are more than happy to be without a relationship though, and past experiences can put others off. The advantages of being in a good relationship are that you're given the trust to be your own person, yet have someone there for you at the end of each day, and being able to share laughter, fun and the enjoyment of just being together.
