Hi all, hope your all ok. Please don't read if your eating breakfast... Last night I suddenly felt like I could breathe properly again for the first time in months, plus there is a huge gap between my boobs and the baby. As I got into the bath there was a tiny blob of yellow mucous. Then I had mild back aches every 30 mins...that stopped. But then this morning (and this is the yuky bit) I got up and went to the loo and just as I stood up a rather large blob (probably a little bigger than an egg yolk) fell into the loo. It was mainly yellowy grey with a dark brown bit in the middle. So that's the mucous plug right?

MBoo - are you there? Any more movements? I have everything crossed for you xx

Lorry - I made it into work but the clock is going sooooo slowly. As of 4pm today I am off for at least 5days - hurrah!
That was spooky - great minds think alike and all that!

I am at work, no pains or anything as yet this morning, but last night they were pretty bad. I slept well last night and am looking forward to resting up over the weekend, baby hasn't been quite as active as it has been the past few days although I can still feel him/ her moving around so I don't think they're engaged yet. I'm wearing pads now too because... sorry if it's too much info.... but my knickers always seem to be damp! My mum has told me to keep an eye on it because she said her waters didn't break tsunami style like you'd see on TV, but gradually over three days so that she didn't even know that it had happened!
natalie, mine never "broke" either. I first had a show on the Saturday and was having to wear pads from then, Holly arrived on the Monday. After the birth the midwife said "so what happened to your waters then?"

mountainboo, I think youre going to go any day now, but thats just my opinion so dont get your hopes up lol
morning Nat...I have to admit - my knickers were 'damp' for the last few weeks at work too - i just put it down to my weight gain and heat etc.... i.e. sweating! not a nice thought i know but i think one of the many realities of pregnancy! i thought it could have been my waters too but i guess it wasn't....

I'm getting so fed up of waiting!! sounds like we are having similar aches and pains. last night they were quite strong and regular and i was willing them to get worse but they didn't.

i hope time speeds up for you at work!

Lorraine xx

p.s. when is Mountainboo due?? i can't find her date anywhere in any threads...i shoud know i know but i forget everything these days!
Erm, I am due 3rd April and I think she is a little ahead of me ..... I can barely remember my own dates at the moment let alone other people's!

Hi Lorry Hi Nat,

I'm due on the 27th. When are you Lorry?
I just spoke to MW to arrange anti-natal appt next week and just checked that it's normal to have so much mucous plug and she seems to think it is. Bring on the contractions..(I won't be saying that when they get here)! I'm so fed up with keep thinking I'm having early contractions and then it all stopping!
its so annoying all these false alarms every afternoon / eve isnt it!

as soon as i lie down in bed they stop grrrr.

could there really be another 6 weeks of this for me??

Hi Red,

It is completely frustrating your right! I've decided I'm not going to say anything until I'm in alot of pain and feeling it every 5 mins now...lol

I read earlier about your appt with the consultant, it doesn't sound as though they've helped much? Is all well with mini red?

bubs seems fine, as Im getting all the right movements etc. Its just annoying to be told I'll be kept under observation growth wise and will be told whatll happen at 36 weeks about an early induction, only to them have them say well we dont induce til 42 weeks at this hospital. Well I know that from last time, but that was with a none diabetic pregnancy.

Have just called to make appt to see my midwife who only works on a Thursday / Friday and im only there on a thursday to be told shes booked next week. and the week after i have hospital appts so cant see her then either. So doesnt look like i shall get any answers from her and shes the only one i really trust lol

It sounds like a bit of a nightmare. I think it's ridiculous that they only induce at 42 weeks. Surely yours is an exceptional case? It's also not good that your MW only works 2 days a week, how are you supposed to get the help you need?
The net crashed at work and I couldn't get opn - thought I might have missed something exciting (an arrival?), but nope..... :-(

I was reading my pregnancy book last night and that said that pregnant mum's with gestational diabetes are usually induced at 40weeks at the latest, so seems odd that they won't do it before 42weeks.

I had really bad period type pains earlier and went to the loo expecting to find that things were gearing up, but nothing. Again. This is getting mightily annoying. What star signs will these babies be? Naughty ones whatever they are.

We're going to have Aries babies Nat. Red is likely to have an Aries baby, if she goes the full 6 weeks, then a Taurus I think. I don't know much about either really. Mr MB says that tommorrow is a full moon and apparantly due to the gravitational pull more babies are born on a full moon, so you never know!!
This may seem like a stupid question but is it ok to have sex after the mucous plug has come away? It's obviously the last thing on my mind at the moment but I've heard it can bring on labor?
I don't know if it is safe or not, but I thought that sex, well the semen anyway, helped to loosen the mucus plug - if yours has come away there seems little point.

MrNat did have the balls to suggest it yesterday, I told him that I can barely sit comfortably at the moment let alone think about doing that and I am not quite desperate enough yet., I will be trying pineapple and starjumps first :-)
yes its safe, not that Id try it lol. Its not safe once waters have broken but who in their right mind would.

I can call my midwife for a home appt and ask her to vist me at my mums when Im there. In fact i may just try that if i need to.

There is no way Im going to 42 weeks this time, i refuse to lol. Mind you, i panic at thought of having it now, im not ready.

we are being forcast heavy snow sat and sun, whats the betting thatll be when baby decides to show?
