Got lots of advice from lots of mums but two things were constant within that advice:
1. Breathing - concentrate on this as much as you can, it got me through and distracted my mind from other things!
2. Drugs - everyone said take whatever they offer, lol. I didnt get the chance to get any so you can have my share if you like.
Wishing you all the best lorrymac and that goes for all you preggie ladies.

Thanks so much Warpig...I go thru different mindsets - sometimes i think every twinge could be the start of something, but then i realise that the baby is still so high and probably not going to move for weeks!! I am ALWAYS late so chances are my baby will take after me! my poor mum was in labour for 27 hours with me and in the end i only came out after an episiotomy and forceps.
thanks for the advice. i unfortunately missed my class on breathing so i don't really know much apart from what i've picked up watching birthing programmes. I want to try for as natural a birth as possible - i'm not going to be a martyr, but i understand what it means to have pethedine or an epidural and would rather not. so far the plan is to try a water birth with gas and air if i need it..... we'll see! My baby's position is LOA which is apparently an easier birth.
Fingers crossed eh?! No doube i'll be posting frantically when/if the moment comes!

I'm due 17th September! wondering when I will actually start to look pregnant?! Don't seem to have put on much weight at all yet although I'm eating every hour as constantly hungry! I have a small bump under my jeans which seems smaller some days than others so I'm guessing that's just wind! I thought you were meant to 'pop' around this time?! I'm quite slim and 5' 6" so I thought I would start to show quite early on. I guess we're all different and I just need to me patient!
Good luck to everyone!
