Anyone else got that horrible waiting feeling?!

I've posted on here before about trying for a baby - we have been for about 5-6months. So far nothing, I know that this is not unusual and that's not really my question!!
This month I am just over a week late and I am desperately trying not to think about the possibilities, but it's impossible. We've not done a test yet, as we've been in this situation before and it was a negative, normally have a very regular 28-29 day cycle.
Anyone else have this horrible waiting feeling?!?!?

I did, it took a good few months for me, and every late period started with me getting into moods and start feeling sick with nerves!

I would do a test without telling the hubby as I had planned on surprising him. But I ended up crying and telling him that I had done a test, which was negative!

He never knew what to say as he was a lot more realistic than me and was going by what the doctor told us about trying, but us women... what are we like??

We've been trying for years and it doesn't get easier every month. A couple of months ago I convinced myself I was and that the tests would show it eventually. I try not to think about it now!

I had exactly the same thing twice in recent months. Both times, got really upset, did the test, got upset when it was negative and then ended up telling my husband anyway. I also had a very regular 28 day cycle. Four months ago was 7 days late, then two months ago got a result. Finally. Do you feel any other symptoms? If so,just do the test. At least you'll know. Fingers crossed for you

We did a test this morning - a negative...
I'm 9-10 days late - what's going on?!?!?! Blinking bodies, why aren't they straight forward?!?!

I did a search and found this thread. How have you got on? I too have been trying for a baby for a year now, but I have had tests and blood taken to reveal I have polysystic ovaries, which just makes it harder to concieve. They have eventually put me onto a tablet called Clomid, which helps you to ovulate, and I am now too in the "waiting game" I am on cycle day 38 as of today and no sign of a period, did a test but was negative, but I have since been to the docs and he has said it sounds promising and to do another test in a week or so as a positive result may now show until day 42. There is light at the end of the tunnel eventually, we just have to keep goign x x

Hi sparker,
no positive as yet, just a few false alarms! We've now been to the doc's and have just started down the road of investigations. We've now been trying for a year (since we married last June).
However, saying all of that I am currently at day 35 of my cycle and no sign of a period, so fingers crossed.

Let me know how you get on when you do your test, I've not dared do one yet. I don't 'feel' anything, so am waiting for a period, a few more days and I'll crack and do one though!

You will more than likely have to have the scans and blood test I have had then, but at least you might get to know a bit more on whats happening. I might do a test this weekend, but I might leave it a bit longer haha!! Its horrible isnt it coz you want to do one but you dont incase its a negative!! We will get there in the end,just got to keep at it :-) Im on day 40 today and still no sign of a period!! x

Keep me updated how you get on... I'll do the same!! I have to say that I don't 'feel' positive - I have no signs other than the lack of period! I'm trying to be positive, but not really feeling it!

What tests did you have? I've got to go for blood test day 2-6 of cycle and an exam with the doc. He mentioned the next step would be scans to see if I am ovulating as I have a fairly irregular cycle.

How long have you been on Clomid?

Not my turn this month :-( the dreaded period came yesterday!! i was really hopefull this time, 40 days!!! never mid, we have to keep trying! x

Sorry, not your turn, I've been there with a 39 day cycle one month fully believing it was 'the month'!!

Good news this month for us however, I did a test on Friday and it was positive - can't believe it!!! So much so have done a further 2 tests since just to make sure!!

Keep trying -like you said, it will happen eventually. Keep in touch, I'll be sending my positive thoughts to you. Maybe next month will be your turn , if this month was mine?!??!

Congratulations to you both, feels like Im the only one left ;-( :-( its horrible isnt it when you are trying and each month you just wait to get that positive result!! I will get there one day hopefully!!!!!
