Periods?
Hi all (sorry I am usually andrea81 but can't use my name for unknown reasons)
Well after having baby, how long should it be before I have a period. Menna is almost 6 weeks now and no sign!
Cheers all and hope all bumps and bubs are ok x x x

I dont think there is any set time for your period to return, with me, it was about 7-8 weeks after she was born. With my first, I dont think it was quite so long but then I had bled so long after the birth of my first.
I think, but dont quote me on this, it can be affected by if youre breastfeeding or not. Im probably got that totally wrong though lol

Hi Psy and Red,
Oh thank god! Don't think I can cope with another bump! Would really welcome my period for the first time in my life!!!
I'm not breast feeding though but I am getting a bit of leaky nipples now and again (not much!) LOL
Of the joys!!
P.S Not sure where to put these posts anymore (don't think I qualify being in pregnancy anymore!) LOL

As you both are waiting for the return of auntie flo, heres something to consider. I have always suffered, auntie flo has never been kind to me. Shes been twice since Holly was born, and. apart from a dull ache here and there to being with, shes been an angel to me! lol

Mine still hadn't arrived at my six week check but then I began taking the pill again (that was 2 weeks ago), so am not due a period until next week. Not that you're probably that interested in that LOL. Anyway, basically, at 6 weeks I hadn't had a period either!
My doc told me that if you breastfeed, which I did for five weeks, then that can affect when your period arrives.
I didn't bleed for very long after the birth but the other nasty bits (discharged and wotnot) seemed to last forever.

If you are breast feeding then the old wives tale was you couldn't get pregnant. My friend fed for over a year because it kept her periods at bay . But mine started again after about 6 months even tho I was fully breast feeding and I was pregnant again when my first was 7 months. My poor Mum wenr to be fitted with cap ( 1952) only to be told she was already pregnant having not had a period at all after me!! She was NOT happy 3 children under 4yrs old!!
