fully engaged but still confused?

i visited my midwife today and told her i am getting period like pains backache etc. she said i am fully engaged and that she thinks the baby my be here within two days!! i look on internet about the babys head being fully engaged and it says that labour can be weeks away???? im 38 weeks plus 4 days.

youre right in that being fully engaged means that baby may still take weeks. BUT the pains that youve been getting, which you told her about, may be the start of labour rather than braxtons hicks.
In which case she will expect labour to start fully fairly soon.

Oh and full term can be anything from 37 weeks so dont worry

I guess before u come to any conclusion its better u rush up your final visit to your gynaec ....in cases of delivery u never know what to expect !! and u can never been thoroughly prepared for it .....happy parentin in advance!
