i know everyone is different but just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one that experiences this. although i do agree it is best to be checked.
i also personally wouldnt recommend them heart monitors if you are already worried. i had one with my first and there was a few times that i couldnt hear baby and went into a complete panic and got my self very stressed out which wasnt helping baby. the baby was fine it was just that the machine hadnt picked it up right. but you may find you constantly checking with may cause you more worry

Hi Budda, I'm coming up to 18 weeks this weekend, but can't say I've really felt anything either, which I understand is a bit worrying.
From what I've been told, many women do not feel the first, definitive foetal movements until around week 20. If you are concerned, speak to your GP or midwife.

hi,
im 19 weeks gone today, i think i felt a movement on xmas day, it felt like a twitch in my stomach, im not sure if i have felt any more movement as this is my first and im not quite sure how to distinguish this between a belly rumble or movement, i too am getting a bit anxious, does anyone know how the doctor could tell that everything is ok?,

My sister had a heart beat monitor and said that although it was great being able to listen in and even hear things like baby's hiccups, she had to be in a certain position and even then, it was hit or miss if she was able to pick up anything. The best thing to do, as others have said, is to speak to your midwife, although its still a little early on to be feeling movements.
darlingnc, most women miss the first movemnets because they feel like little flutters as if you have butterflies. What your midwife would do to make sure all is ok, is to listen in to babys heartbeat using her monitor.

hi
sorry to hear of your loss
if this helps i never felt anything till around 22 weeks and all it was, was like and egg coming out of my belly when i was in the bath one day then it went back down.
it only happened in the bath a few times and that was the only movement i got. not much
i never got much movement through my whole pregnancy. i decided not to read books as it was saying you should feel you baby move so many times a day and i wasn't so it got me panacing. i did feel things nearer the end of my pregnancy but when i did it would last a few minutes 3 or 4 times a day and that was it. very little compared to friends and family that were pregnant at the same time
i wouldn't feel bad at all calling the doctors going buy your past. i'm like that with everything, i don't want to bother folk. but sometimes you have to

i never felt me baby move untill i was around 23wks. i was paniking anyway but wot made me panic more was the fact that every1 says u can feel your baby move earlier on in your 2nd pregnancy. (which i was). It was only after me 20wk scan (it was late) and i seen him wriggling round i started to feel more movement. so dont worry. (easier said than done)
