Is my miscarriage complete and do I have an infection?
2 Answers
I was recently diagnosed with a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. I went in to hospital to have a D+C operation. The operation was delayed for twelve hours due to an emergency in surgery. I had been given tablets to make the surgery easier which also start the miscarriage. At the end of the night they finally told me the operation wasnt going to happen till maybe the next day. By then I was starving, exhausted and in pain. I just wanted to go home rather then go through a miscarriage in a hospital bed. As soon as I left the hospital I started bleeding, I lost a fair amount of blood and felt someting other than blood pass, but they had told me to expect alot more blood and pain. This was almost two weeks ago, since then I have had mild cramps, bled like a heavy period, and passed a few small clots and something that could of been a foetus. I havent had pain for about 4 days until this morning, not cramps but a verysore feeling. I am not bleeding much, just brown stuff, and It does smell a little. Sorry to go into such detail but the hospital havent been much help and I really want to know when it will be over.

I had a d&c and was sent home, i had very heavy blood loss and pain and this continued for about 3 months before they found out what was the problem. It turned out that i had remaining feotal tissue in my uterus. Have you tried goung back to the hospital for another scan to check that the misscarrage is complete? Usually when your blood loss is a brown shade it means you are coming to an end of a 'cycle' but it shouldnt smell or be painful. Go back to the hosputal or go and see your gp for a referall. Misscarrage is an awful thing to go through and i hope it does come to an end soon for you x
