�190 maternity grant

hi guys, has anyone applied for the �190 maternity grant, i think you get it if your due after 6th april this year or something like that,

i applied ages ago, my midwife signed and gave me the form, i filled it in and sent it off straight away and never heard back, that was weeks ago

just looking on google for a contact number and i cant find one? sounds silly but who do i call to check they even recieved the aplication?? any ideas??

yep, u should have a info form that was attached to the bit u tear off and send., says on there, the number u ring.
I applied when i was 25 weeks gone(im 35weeks gone now), i rang up about it 4weeks later, as i still hadnt heard anything.
They told me coz its a new thing, takes time, if i havent heard anything by 6th april to ring.
I still aint heard anything, its been 9weeks now since i applied.
I mean, how long does it take lol

hi shaunzy, well i found the number and called up, they are starting to make payments until may 09

so i think we will be waiting a few months longer! :o(

actually now im lookin, i dont think this info form was attached to the form u send to them. the number it says to ring on it is 0845 366 7885

i know it aint 6th april yet but think i'l give it a ring anyways, see if they can tell me more now, u never know, worth a try eh

we shouldnt be entitled to it then, by may, we wont be pregnant anymore and its only for pregnant women

well i rang and held on to speak to an advisor.
She said, we will recieve a comfirmation letter about our payment after 6th april as thats when they will start processing the applications and wont recieve the payment til may.
We are entitled to it, even if the baby is born :) thats good.
but i still dont understand y its took and still taking so long lol

no idea, its silly because like you said we wont be pregnant anymore! well i wont be anyway, i hope! im due 23rd april!

oh well nice little �190 to spend on the baby!!!!
